OSC 113th and 114th packing for the troops

The OSC Ministry is pleased to report that the shipments for 113th and 114th packing for the troops were a success.  The care packages have arrived to their final destinations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany, Korea and Diego Garcia. Amen to that!

It was a great packing session since we had some extra goodies to add in each box. We even had some extra small hands that helped to get the job done. Meet our youngest volunteer Jasmine.  Jasmine is the daughter of one of OSC’s former troops, U.S. Army Veteran Travis Jones, and she is the granddaughter of OSC Shopper & Packer, Blue Star Mother Lora Jones.

In the 144 care packages we included 14 bibles, 158 tracts, and 144 letters. These small little touches to each care package definitely help lift the troops spirits as they serve our country away from family and friends.

Together the shipments weighed in at 1,656 pounds with a total cost of $5,914.00 with funds to spare for our remaining 2017 shipments. We give praises to the Lord for providing for our troops!

As we push thru 2017 we continue to let others know about Operation Soldier Care’s mission. On February 25th, and 26th we had the opportunity to participate with several other FBCN ministries at the Missions Conference in the Commons.

Below is a photo of our table that we had setup in the Commons. We had many visitors to share the good news as to how the Lord is using Operation Soldier Care, a First Baptist Church Ministry to help bless the troops.

A big thank you goes out to our troops, and to all the volunteers and workers behind the scenes to keep this ministry going.

God bless and we will see you next time!

Tony

Nothing but a smile from U.S. Navy CSSN Rebecca Stinnett

The OSC Ministry of First Baptist Church of Naples loves putting smiles on the faces of our deployed troops.  Today we have the opportunity to actually see the smile on U.S. Navy CSSN Rebecca Stinnett after she just received her care package.  There is nothing but a smile here!

Every package contains lots of goodies.  In Rebecca’s case she received a large box of Starburst candy along with the soldier staples that are shipped with each OSC package.

Some packages are customized to specific needs depending on where a soldier is located, but each OSC soldier we support always receives a bible in the second care package of their deployment.

As of the February 27, 2013 packing OSC has sent 1,186 bibles to deployed troops and of those sent 200 were waterproof bibles.  We give special thanks to our partnership with the Promise of Hope Ministries and their Military Encounter program that provides us with our waterproof bibles which are purchased by individuals. For more information about their Military Encounter program go to: https://www.promiseofhope.org/military-encounter

Thank you CSSN Stinnett for modeling your waterproof bible for us and for sharing your great smile with everyone back here in the U.S.! God bless!

Thank You email from a Battalion Chaplain Assistant

FBCN CrossJune 10, 2013

Dear Tony and Members of Operation Soldier Care at First Baptist Church Naples,

My Chaplain, Captain Will and I, want to say thank you for all the care packages you have recently sent us!  It is very clear that a lot of thought was put in to providing high-quality items that our Soldiers can really enjoy.  I especially like the 100% waterproof Bibles; that’s a cool innovation that I was not aware of. We appreciate the difference YOU all are making for us over here. May God bless you all!

Sincerely,

SSG. Nathan
